Welcome to Mr. Poderzay's Weebly, BHS students!
What is this about?
I have spent a lot of time thinking of ways to give you all--the students--a break from traditional pen-and-paper homework assignments. In turn, I thought it would be nice to have weekly--perhaps more than weekly depending on how you all respond to these types of activities--online blogging assignments. Such activities will require no additional work (compared to hard-copy assignments) on your part and will also require no more than 10 minutes of your time to earn the entire 20 points for each blog assignment.
The more I thought about these types of activities, the more I realized that this site will serve you all with much more than just an online blogging experience. I plan to design this site in a fashion that will provide you with all of the essentials to successfully survive your final year of English class. In doing so, this site will also serve as a resource pertaining to MLA, APA, grammar, tentative unit schedules, important quotations and notes, tutorials, and so much more!
So what's the deal with the blogs?
It's simple! You will be given notice of when an assignment is posted. From there I will give you two school nights to complete the online assignment. At the top of this page you will see the "menu" bar, consisting of Home, Blogs, Resources, etc.

It's simple! You will be given notice of when an assignment is posted. From there I will give you two school nights to complete the online assignment. At the top of this page you will see the "menu" bar, consisting of Home, Blogs, Resources, etc.
When you are ready to view and complete a homework assignment, simply hover your cursor over BLOGS: YOUR PERIOD NUMBER: then click the given assignment for that day. For example, if I am ready to complete the American dream assignment (posted 09/17/12), hover your mouse over BLOGS. A drop-down menu will then appear. Hover over the class period YOU are in, and then click on "09/17/12 The American Dream."
From there, read the directions and respond accordingly by clicking on either "Add Comment" or "Comment" (if responses are already posted, you will have to unveil the comments first before seeing the form to submit YOUR response).
You also wont see your post right away as I must approve them before they are posted. In the "Name" field, be sure you enter your FULL first name and the first two letters of your last name. For example (for John Clark): Name: John Cl. If you wish to keep your response offline, inform me of it in parenthesis right after your FULL first name and starting two letters of your last name and I will not post it. For example (for John Clark): Name: John Cl (keep offline).
It is not--I repeat, NOT--necessary for you to provide your "Email" and "Website."

If you are experiencing any problems, you can email me by clicking on the "QUESTIONS?" tab in the main menu tool bar. Keep in mind that I will not sympathize for you if you wait until after the due date to seek help. However, you will still be able to complete the assignment, but your grade will reduce by 10% each day it is late. Each assignment is worth 20 points, and as said, each assignment will use up no more than 10 minutes of your time. Don't forget that a proper paragraph contains at least 5 sentences--so write at least 5 (it will be painless :-] )!
Please keep online-based activities appropriate and cordial. Don't waste your time using fake or "funny" names or attack someone else's response in a profane way; they will never be posted.
